Build Your Own
(BYO)
Build Your Own is an interactive workshop for elementary through high school students that need a computer at home, for their own use, to support their education.
At Build Your Own, students receive an introduction to computers, taught by our own staff of Student Technicians. Students will also build their own computer from a kit prepared by C4K for the workshop. Our Student Technicians will assist them as needed as they build their own computer and take it home after the workshop!
C4K believes access to the Internet is a critical part of the package. Without Internet access, the computer's value as an educational tool is diminished. Through the generous support of Sopris Surfers and ROFINTUG, workshop participants and their families are eligible for low-cost Internet access.
The workshop includes one flash drive per participant, refurbishment and a C4K t-shirt for all graduates. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend the workshop!
The cost for the workshop is $30 for one child. If the child brings a sibling, there is an additional $20 fee per sibling.
Build Your Own workshops are typically held on Saturday's at Computers For Kids. For more information, please call C4K at (970) 963-7259.
