Innovation In Youth Development

Partnering For Success (PFS) is a new and innovative program that helps prepare our youth for future success! In PFS, project teams of students are matched with real-life clients in the community such as businesses and non profits. The project teams work to solve the client's problem with mentors and facilitation provided by C4K. The result is an authentic learning experience which provides students the opportunity to: develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes they will need to be successful, use technology in creative ways, and learn the behaviors that are required in the work place.

With  PFS, C4K effectively taps into the underutilized resource in our society-youth. Students find PFS projects incredibly motivating as someone is depending upon them, their human capital and creativity to solve their problem and deliver high quality work.

Building On Success

In the fall of 2008, Computers For Kids will open it's 7000 sq.ft. Partnering For Success Center in Carbondale. At the center, thousands of local students annually will have the opportunity to utilize state-of-the-art technology and business resources to support them in their education and as they work to develop 21st Century work skills.

The center will also provide the physical space and resources our Partnering For Success teams need to complete their projects for clients. The center will support adults and businesses with technology resources including training, computers and Internet access.
